The crowd can have a lot of influence over us, but here's the thing that we all know and is at the heart of the message today; you can go against the flow.  We can live in crowds, but not be crowd controlled.  The crowd doesn't have to be the place where we find our meaning, value, and identity.

Jeremiah's encounter with the Rechabites gives us great evidence of this reality and there are some wonderful lessons for us to learn from this encounter.
