The Long Work

So if someone was to ask you, "Who is Jesus, really?"  What would tell them?  How would you  describe Jesus to them?  How would you talk about  your relationship with Jesus and His presence in your life?  Is Jesus someone that you drop in on from time to time or is your relationship with Jesus something that you are constantly engaged in throughout every day?  One of the crucial lessons from our passage that challenges our cultural upbringing is that Jesus is doing a long work in our lives.  We tend to want things "right now" but God works slowly and patiently within us as we're molded and shaped into Jesus' missional disciples as we press on in knowing, loving, and following Jesus wherever He leads us.
