PARENTS, WHEN SENDING YOUR CHILD TO CHILDREN’S CHURCH, please notify leaders each week of any food allergies your child may have. The leaders change from week to week. Flowers are given by Ralph and Bev Lamenzo to the glory of God and in loving memory of their son, Kenny, and their son-in-law, Donald Snapp. The rosebud is in honor of the birth of Thomas Samuel Bush born on August 26, 2008 to parents Allison & Doug Bush, and proud grandparents, Cathy & John Opdenaker.

The new weekly format for children in grades 3 through 5 will follow the All Access schedule of meeting nights. Helpers are needed. Could you volunteer one Sunday a month to lead a lesson, craft or game? You would not be responsible for the whole 2 hours, just a small portion. Contact Renee Pfeil for more information or to volunteer. WHERE CAN YOU GET A SODA FOR A QUARTER? How about a snack for 2 quarters? There is only 1 place, THE ROXBURY right here at WCCPC! The way we keep prices as they are is to seek donations... and our machine is bare after the long summer! Snack/soda Machine Donations needed (All snack items can be purchased at Costco or BJ'S in bulk): Candy -Twix, Snickers, Reese's Peanut Butter cups, Skittle's, Starbursts, Sour patch kids, Sunflower seeds, cookies in individual bags. Canned Soda: We use ONLY the following in the machine: Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Lemonade, Regular Pepsi KITCHEN NOTES: Please remember these points when using any of our three kitchens for your events: Make certain someone is responsible for cleanup: all kitchenware should be washed, air dried and put away. Food should not be left out (it attracts mice and ants). Please label all items that are intended for use. Do not store perishable food in the refrigerators or on shelves with the expectation that someone else will eat them or discard them. All foods are discarded upon their expiration date. Any unlabelled canned goods left for a length of time will be donated to the food closet. If we are low on stock, please make a note and place it on the refrigerator, or call Wendy LaManna. Thank you. MEN’S GOLF OUTING! - FRIDAY MORNING, OCT. 10. Men, make your plans now to be there for this “best ball” format event at Patriot’s Glen Golf Course. Sign-ups begin soon. DO YOU HAVE YOUR OWN MEDICAL PROVIDER? If not, CHAP (Community Healthcare Access Program) can help you find out if you are eligible for medical assistance. If not, CHAP can assist you in getting a doctor to look after your health needs. To be eligible you must have no other health insurance, and annual income that meets program guidelines. For more information, call 1-800-996-9969 option 3. JOY FELLOWSHIP will be enjoying the Rainbow Dinner Theater’s comedy matinee production of “barefoot in the Park” on Wednesday, September 17 after partaking their buffet luncheon. See our brochure at the bulletin board for complete details ONE CHURCH / ONE FAMILY – Please help your Deacons by supporting a family of seven for “One Church, One Family.” We thank you for your help. AKWABA MINISTRY – A NEW MINISTRY TO WELCOME VISITORS: There are new faces worshipping with us each week. Will you consistently and consciously welcome these visitors, sharing kindness and inviting them to return? We are looking for individuals who are willing to reach out and say hello to someone they don’t know… to serve on the new Akwaba Team (“Akwaba” means “Welcome” in the African dialect of Twi). In addition to saying hello in the service, you would take a turn every month (or 2 months depending on the number of people that participate) in welcoming people as they arrive in the parking lot, and as they leave through the Parlor. If you’d like to find out more, please contact Kim McWatters. We’ll have a short training session in early September. The overall time commitment is small, but the impact in others lives could be really big! PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR CAR. Break-ins have occurred. NOTES FROM YOUR DEACONS:
