Hope Dining Room
The Hope dining room provides hot noon meals to anyone in need (open Mon., Wed., Thurs., and Friday). The Hope Dining room is located in the Kingswood United Methodist Church in Newark and has been serving the community for 20 years. We have been part of this community service since its beginning.
Meeting Ground
At Meeting Ground, we are always thinking about and concerned with the underlying problems which help to create homelessness in our society. We get to know so many hardworking persons and families who, in spite of their strong effort, are unable to maintain a living for themselves and their families. We always have such families in our community, and many others we know, although not presently homeless, continue to struggle to keep their housing. This is the reason our community maintains so many homeless prevention support services such as: emergency food, and medical, dental, and legal assistance, clothing and furniture, and referrals for minor, but potentially catastrophic needs such as sudden car or housing repairs.
